The canvas "Peacocks" belongs to the early stage of the artist. It is made in a modernist style, but contains elements of classic grace and sophistication. The painting with its restrained stingy color reminds a sketch from nature. The artist intentionally emphasizes the natural presence of royal birds in natural conditions, placing them in the garden among the flowers. However, the author still emphasizes the intentional decorative elements of the image.

Two birds - male and female - occupy most of the canvas. One of them, sitting in the foreground with folded wings, was painted in a completely nondescript greyish-green color. But the second one, looking truly regal - due to the crest on the head, similar to a crown - impresses, despite its calmly folded tail, the beauty of which it does not even intend to boast of. The tail plumage is depicted by careless strokes in warm brown tones, shaded by lines of a brick hue with a splash of green eyes with black spots. The torso and head with a crest, gracefully turned back on a graceful high neck, shade the colorfulness of the canvas in blue, creating the impression of fantasy and exoticism.

Peacocks do not look outlandish and unusual in the picture, almost fantastic, as they are found in real life. Birds are identified by plants, among which the painter placed them: the bird's legs resemble twigs that support flower bushes, or flower stems. Snow-white flowers and greens, among which peacocks are located, are written with slurred strokes, but they are a contrasting background for them, emphasized by yellowish glare of light at the upper corners of the picture.

The primitivism of the canvas is particularly attractive. Spectacular colorful birds are a definite sign in the compositional construction of the picture and give it a unique expressiveness.
